IMPORTANT to adhere to IT Best Practices π
- If you lose any company property (i.e. your smartcard, door card, laptop), please report this to the IT team ASAP
- Please make a note of your password somewhere safe (ideally digitally). E.g. the free Microsoft Authenticator App:
- Get it on Google Play
- Get it on the Apple App Store
- Do not share your passwords or smartcard pin
- Do not leave your smartcard unattended, or cover the photo on your smartcard
- Do not connect mobile phones or any other devices to work computers
- Lock your PC or sign out from your Windows account if youβre not at your desk (press the windows key on your keyboard + L), and ensure that you donβt leave any physical documents containing patient information unattended
- To ensure you can access your files from any computer at the surgery, please transfer your files to your personal drive. This not only keeps your files accessible but also safeguards them against potential data loss from computer malfunctions. If necessary, you can also access and save any shared files to the surgery's local shared drive.
- Ensure to remove all non-essential files/documents from your local computers. Specifically, the "Downloads" and "Documents" folders could use a tidy-up to ensure the computer has ample free storage.
- When you leave work, please restart your PC, DO NOT Turn it OFF! The computers receive important updates overnight.
