Your induction plan
Your plan will include your induction timetable, which tells you the dates / days that you’ll be working in your first two weeks (this will be on your usual working days, which are also included in your plan). Make sure that you check where you’re working each day, as you may be going to different sites!
You will also find your induction checklist in your induction plan. This is a list of topics that should be covered during various parts of your induction. If you have any questions about any of the topics, or if any of them weren’t covered during your induction, don’t be afraid to ask about it!
First day
Your first day will be your ‘Day one induction’ at Kingfisher Medical Centre. This day will be all about helping you get to know Penrose Health, and giving you some key information you’ll need to know while working with us e.g. how to book time off.
First two weeks
After your first day you’ll have your site induction at the surgery where you’ll be working. The Lead Receptionist will show you around and make you feel welcome. They’ll introduce you to the rest of the team, and also go over some key fire / health and safety.
They’ll also introduce you to your training buddy, who will be someone already in the same role as you that can tell you more about your job itself. They’ll help you learn everything you need to know, and assist you throughout your training with shadowing time and one to one support.
You’ll also have scheduled time to sit with other staff members and find out more about what they do. If you’re not sure where to find the person you’re scheduled to be seeing, ask the Reception Lead or anyone else that’s around!
During your first few weeks you’ll also have time to do some of your BlueStream training. BlueStream is our online training platform that includes mandatory training for all staff, such as Safeguarding, and Information Governance. You should use any spare hours to try and tackle these as they’re mandatory for all staff to complete.
