What is this service?
The Havens are specialist centres in London for people who have been raped or sexually assaulted. They also offer follow-up care, including counselling, tests and treatments.
Other services include:
- Immediate support
- Examination and medical support
- Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) support
- Counselling support
- Support for children and young people
Criteria
- If a patient has been raped or sexually assaulted in the past 12 months.

Urgent advice and referrals: (If a patient has been sexually assaulted in the last seven days)

Under 13s:
- Acute cases (within the last seven days) can only be referred by police for time-sensitive collection of evidence.
- For non-acute referrals, The Havens require a social care referral and police will be informed.
Rejections, DNAs & other Quirks

- If a patient needs to be seen urgently, such as for a forensic medical examination (FME), Havens will aim to see them within 90 minutes of making the appointment.
- If patients have been assaulted more than 12 months ago, The Havens can provide patients with information on other organisations that can help.
