What is this service?
UHL Cardiology offers a full range of cardiological expertise. The department treats various conditions, including coronary heart disease (CHD), heart failure, hypertension, atrial fibrillation and valvular heart disease (full list of conditions here). Services provided include:
- Inpatient and outpatient cardiology
- Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic (RACPC)
- Hypertension Clinic
- Echocardiography
- 24-hour ECG monitoring
- Transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE)

Criteria
- Patients must be 16 years old and over
- Fit the referral criteria for the specific clinic type desired as detailed in the forms below

Rejections, DNAs & other Quirks
- Average waiting time from GP referral to treatment at UHL Cardiology is up to 53 weeks for 9/10 patients (with exception of ECG service) → please see here for most up-to-date waiting times
- Appointments for the ECG service at UHL are usually available 1-2 days after referral. The service is open daily between 8:30AM and 4:30PM.
- If necessary, patients can call the service on 0208 333 3216 between 08:30 and 17:00, Mon-Fri
