What is this service?
The Lewisham Stop Smoking Service (SSS), provided by Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust, offers free advice, encouragement and motivational support to people who want to stop smoking.
The service gives patients the opportunity to speak with specialist advisors via phone, online or face-to-face. F2F appointments can be held at any one of the 11 clinics shown here. If appropriate, advisors can prescribe subsidised Nicotine Replacement Therapies for a maximum of 8 weeks.

Rejections, DNAs & other Quirks
- Online support is offered via a digital self-help service - this is suitable for low to moderate dependency smokers
- If a patient relapses, they can be re-referred to the service. If the patient has had three successive unsuccessful attempts at quitting, the service might encourage a break before trying again
