What is this service?
The Southwark domestic abuse service is delivered by Refuge. Refuge exists to support people who have experienced domestic and sexual violence. Refuge operates safe houses called ārefugesā across the UK for women and children escaping domestic violence, here specialist staff provide residents help people to overcome the physical, emotional, financial, and logistical impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives - free from fear.
Refuge can help with:
- Domestic violence and abuse
- Rape, sexual violence
- Prostitution
- Trafficking for sexual exploitation
- Stalking and harassment
- Female genital mutilation (FGM)
- Forced marriage
- So-called āhonorā-based abuse
