What is this service?

Healthwise is a physical activity referral scheme for Lewisham residents operated by Better Gyms over a 12 week period. It aims to encourage people of all abilities to become active in order to reduce risk factors for chronic disease and manage existing medical conditions. It is designed to assist people with conditions or specialist requirements that may be a barrier to accessing mainstream activity in leisure centres.

Criteria

• Adults (over 18 years old)
• Lewisham Borough resident or registered with Lewisham GP
• Not currently active (<30 minutes per week/not existing gym member in last six months)
• Considering or ready to make a change to their physical activity levels

• If patient’s HbA1C is higher than 86 the referral will be rejected
