What is this service?
CAS provides support and advice for adults with bladder and bowel problems. CAS nurses specialise in, and provide treatments for: urinary & bowel incontinence, catheters, urgency and frequency peeing, and waking up at night to pee.
CAS is held at six community centres across Southwark and Lambeth: Akerman Health Centre, Bermondsey Health Centre, Elmcourt Health Centre, Gracefield Gardens Health Centre, Lister Primary Care Centre, Tessa Jowell Health Centre. What to expect at a CAS appointment can be found here.
Criteria
- Over 18 years old
- Has any type of bladder, bowel or pelvic floor dysfunction
- Is not housebound
- Registered with a GP in Lambeth or Southwark

π€Β Patients can self-refer by calling 020 3049 8810 if they have been seen by CAS in the last 6 months
Rejections, DNAs & other Quirks
- Referrals will be rejected if a patient is under 18 years old or is housebound
- If a patient requesting CAS is housebound, they should be assessed by a community/district nurse
- If a patient is more than 15 minutes late for their appointment, they will not be seen. They will be offered a new appointment on a different day. If they DNA twice, they will be discharged and their GP notified.
