What is this service?
Aging and Health provides a range of support for older people, such as:
- elderly care wards: Alexandra ward, Anne ward and Henry ward
- an assessment unit
- an acute older person's (frailty) unit on the emergency floor at St Thomas' Hospital
- an assessment service for people aged 70 and over on our wards
- support during cancer treatment
- support before, during and after surgery
- a continence service
- Southwark and Lambeth integrated falls service (SLIPS)
- consultant input in Lambeth and Southwark
- general and specialist clinics
Criteria
- >60 (however depends on the department and the doctor’s clinical judgement)

TALK is part of Southwark and Lambeth integrated care programme and provides specialist advice from a consultant geriatrician

Ask for the on-call consultant geriatrician
Rejections, DNAs & other Quirks
- If a patient does not attend their appointment, it is down to the clinical judgment of the consultant whether they offer another appointment or discharged the patient.
