Overdose of medication
Intentional medication overdoses should be sent to A&E or patient phones 999.
Accidental medication overdoses can be variable in their severity. The call handler should gather information about the type and amount of medication that was taken. These patients may need to be sent to A&E or discussed with the pharmacist or duty doctor at the site.
