What is this service?
Lewisham Mindful Mums offers free group sessions designed to provide emotional support for pregnant women and new mothers. Support offered includes:
- Online Antenatal Group
- Postnatal Group
- Young Mindful Mums Group
5-week course which aims to help prepare pregnant women for life as a new mum
5-week course for mums and birthing people, where patients can share experiences, questions, and advice
5-week course led by volunteers (with lived experience of being a young mum) who provide patients with emotional and wellbeing support, and help them connect with other new mums in the area
- Diversity Matters Group
- Pride Parents Group
5-week course which has the same structure as Young Mindful Mums, but is tailored towards women from diverse communities
5-week course which has the same structure as Young Mindful Mums, but is tailored towards LGBTQ+ parents
Criteria
All courses are for women experiencing mental health struggles who live in Lewisham, Greenwich or Bromley. The following have additional criteria:
Online Antenatal Group
- Women from 12 weeks pregnancy to full-term
Postnatal Group
- Have a baby of 0-12 months old
Young Mindful Mums Group
- Mum aged 16-22 with a baby 0-12 months old
Diversity Matters Group
- Women of Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority backgrounds with a baby of 0-12 months
Pride Parents Group
- LGBTQ+ parent of a young child

- Priority spaces are given to Lewisham residents (as Mindful Mums is a Lewisham-funded initiative)
