What is this service?
getUbetter provides evidence based digital self-management support for all common musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. There is a phone and website version and patients can download the app on Google Play and the App Store.
This service can help:
- Lower back pain
- Back and leg pain
- Neck pain
- Shoulder pain
- Ankle pain
- Knee pain
- Soft Tissue Lower Limb pain
- Hip pain
Womenβs pelvic floor health is not currently covered by the funding stream; however, this may change over time to include both general and pregnancy related pelvic health issues.
Criteria
- Patients must live in or have a GP registered in Lambeth or Southwark
- 18 years or older
- Must have access to the internet, an email address, and a smartphone / tablet / computer
- Pregnant people are able to use the app to treat MSK-related conditions but not pregnancy-related conditions
How to refer

Rejections, DNAs & other Quirks
- Patients will not be rejected by the service, but due to the safety netting within the app, it will be flagged to the patient if it is unsafe for them to use the app (e.g. when they are answering the screening questions, if it is unsafe for them to use the app due to their symptoms, they will be directed to the appropriate destination for review).
- Patients are able to self-refer to local physiotherapy services on the app and is prompted to do this if not recovering as expected.
- Languages available: Arabic, Bangla, English, Farsi, Gujarati, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Somali, Spanish, Ukrainian, Urdu and Welsh.
