What is an FBC?
The full blood count (FBC) is one of the most commonly requested tests, and provides important information about the number of different cells in the blood.
White Cell Count (WCC): Cells which are part of the immune response
Haemoglobin (Hb): The protein which carries oxygen in the blood
Platelets: Cells which help clot and stop bleeds
Neutrophils: Cells which heal damaged tissues and resolve infections
