Summary: This page describes how to access and action documents using EMIS.
Whoβs it for: GPs
Our Clinical Admin team manage all incoming documents, and will triage them to the appropriate person. Please make that youβre checking and actioning your allocated documents on a daily basis. You can access documents via the Document Management function of EMIS Workflow Manager.
Accessing Document Management
- Login to EMIS
- Click on the EMIS ball (top left corner), and navigate to βWorkflowβ, then βWorkflow Managerβ
- Select βWorkflow Viewβ, then click the βMy Tasks + Deputising Forβ option
- To the left of your screen, select the βDocument Managementβ tab
Actioning Allocated Documents
- Under βDocument Managementβ, and βInboxβ, select the βAwaiting Filingβ folder
- Action and file documents assigned to you
- Document sender βEXTERNAL USERβ: If you see this, please do not file the document as it has not yet been processed by the Clinical Admin team.
- Housing letters: You should not receive housing letter requests. However, if you do, please note that it is not in our remit to provide these. Send the patient the Accurx message βHousing Support Resourcesβ if they require more information.
- If repeat investigations or ongoing monitoring is required, please complete the clinical template on EMIS: 'Safety Netting Template (Updated 2022) PH', and fill in the 'Active Monitoring' tab
- Set the date it is due, and write in the free text the investigation required, and if a new diary entry is to be scheduled after that event
- Please also send the patient the Accurx message: 'Future monitoring investigation required' and amend accordingly
- Once finished, the document can be found in the βCompletedβ folder
